A challenging and exciting opportunity has arisen at one of the leading NHS Hospital Trusts within the Newcastle Joint Research Office. The post will play a key role in providing project management support for a portfolio of complex and interesting research studies sponsored by The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

As part of the Regulatory Compliance Team, the post holder will provide proactive research support to investigators and teams seeking to set up and manage trust sponsored research. They will actively manage project specific activities and provide support in relation to research governance responsibilities. They will also prepare detailed study timelines for specific projects, monitoring study progress on a continuous basis. They will also be responsible for identifying mechanisms for the early identification of potential issues in meeting milestones and developing potential solutions alongside the investigator and other teams. Working collaboratively with the wider R&D team will be a key aspect of the role.

Educated to degree level (or equivalent qualification and/or experience of working in clinical research) is required, along with experience of project planning and management. This will be supported by an advanced knowledge and expertise in setting up a variety of types of clinical trials/research studies and the respective approvals and permissions required. The post holder will possess excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills with an ability to facilitate collaborative working relationships.

Full time 37 hours 30 minutes/week
