The Healthy Minds Service in Stockport has an exciting opportunity for someone who is highly motivated to work as Clinical Lead undertaking the clinical leadership role within an Improving Access to Psychological Therapy (IAPT) setting.

The service is a multidisciplinary team which includes Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapists, Counsellors, Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners, Data Quality Analyst and Administrative Staff all having a commitment to developing psychologically informed services within the Stockport borough.

As an accredited cognitive behaviour therapist, you will have training in another psychological therapy (e.g. EMDR, IPT) and advance training in an IAPT psychological therapy at Master’s level. You will need to demonstrate significant and comprehensive clinical experience of working in an IAPT setting and will need to show a high level of interest and enthusiasm for improving services for individuals. You will have excellent communication skills and be able to develop good robust working relationships with others. You will be part of a Trustwide clinical leadership group, led by the Trustwide Clinical Lead for Primary Care Psychological Therapy, but you will also work with the borough leadership network.


As an experienced lead therapist in psychological therapy, you will have clinical credibility, clinical supervision experience and have the skills to work autonomously to understand services currently available to people throughout Stockport. You will also take a leadership role in developing and improving services and care pathways, in partnership with the Trustwide Clinical Lead and Operational Service and Borough leads. You will have an interest in developing your skils in audit and research and you will have the autonomy to develop projects that will benefit the service and improving clinical quality.

Good supervision and professional support will be provided along with ensuring that appropriate CPD is achieved in keeping professional body guidelines.

All new starters to Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust who are appointed to a post which requires a Disclosure Barring Certificate check (DBS) will be recharged for the full cost of the check. Substantive staff will have the amount deducted from their first months’ salary. Members to the Trust bank must repay the full amount from their first pay. The Trust encourages all staff and bank workers to register with the DBS update service at an annual cost of £13, for bank members this is obligatory. The cost of an enhanced DBS check is £40 and for a standard check £23, both attract an administration charge of £3.50.
