Come and join our innovative team within a specialist Children's Hospital.A number of exciting opportunities for highly motivated paediatric nurses have arisen within the Haematology and Oncology Unit. Due to an investment within the service, we are looking to expand our existing services and we are about to embark on a complete refurbishment of the in patient ward.

As a Band 5 Staff Nurse, our expectations are that you would rotate within the acute ward and day care, prioritising patient care to ensure safe standards is maintained. This will ensure an effective and efficient service is provided to children and families. This rotation will enable you to develop your clinical skills and gain expertise in caring for children and young people at all stages of their treatment journey.
We are looking for highly motivated individuals with proven clinical expertise in paediatrics who can provide a high standard of professional care.

It is an exciting and challenging role with many opportunities for personal and professional development with a dedicated Clinical Educator available to guide and assist your development

The successful post holders will contribute to the successful achievement of the Trust corporate objectives, leading on clinical objectives, patient experience and staff satisfaction.

The Haematology and Oncology Unit comprises a 14 bedded in patient facility, 9 bedded Day Care Unit and a very busy dedicated out patient’s clinic area. The thriving multi-disciplinary team includes a Bone Marrow Transplant and Apheresis Team, Paediatric Oncology Outreach Team, Late Effects Service, Haemophilia and Benign Haematology Service.

In line with other NHS Organisations in the Yorkshire and Humber Region a successful candidate appointed into a post within this Trust will be required to pay the DBS check fee (£45). This is customarily payable over 4 months as a salary deduction once employed by the Trust. If you receive a conditional offer letter, complete your DBS application and later withdraw from the recruitment process, an invoice will be raised via the Trust's finance department to recoup the outlay.
