We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, innovative and motivated Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (SCPHN) Health Visitor, to join our specialist Health improvement team, incorporating the Specialist Infant feeding team (IFT) and the Childrens Healthy Lifestyle Team (CHLT), part of the 0-5 Healthy Child Programme in West Sussex.

The Healthy Child Programme works in partnership with early help staff at children and family centres, school nurses and multi-agency teams to deliver the best outcomes for children.Staff joining our teams receive two days of infant feeding training, along with promotional guides training and speech and language training.

The IFT provide Specialist support to families with breastfeeding and infant feeding issues and the Childrens Healthy Lifestyles Team provide support to families and children around healthy lifestyles including promoting physical activity, making food swaps and achieving healthy BMIs with a child friendly and family approach. We are looking for a Health Visitor who is passionate and motivated in both these areas and has significant experience in children’s healthy lifestyle choices and specialist Infant feeding

Our service in West Sussex has achieved full Unicef Baby Friendly accreditation and we recently received the Unicef UK Baby Friendly Gold Award.

As a qualified Specialist Community Public Health Nurse - Health Visitor (SCPHN HV) you will be expected to work as part of a corporate team, demonstrate evidence-based practice, and maintain a flexible approach to work and service delivery. You will also need to possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to team working and clinical leadership.

SCFT offers excellent support to staff with regular high qualitysupervision, wellbeing support and opportunities for personal and professional development.
