The BRC brings together the work of Respiratory Medicine, Cardiovascular Science, Diet, Lifestyle and Physical Activity.


You’ll want to develop, support and innovate. We believe developing in a consultant orthodontist post in Northampton General, you will be able to have the best of both worlds. Working in a busy acute environment and also having time to explore other interests outside of the Trust.

You will be supported by the other Senior Consultants in the unit as well as being supported by an Orthodontic Therapist. We work closely with our proactive, enthusiastic Maxillofacial Prosthetics Lab team who take part in departmental meetings and provide support for appliance designs, research and audit projects and quality assessments which is invaluable in terms of how the orthodontic department works.

We also have dedicated Orthognathic surgery theatre list which supports the treatment pathway for Orthognathic patients.

You’ll be able to share our passion for excellence and be proficient in complex orthodontic treatment applicable to a busy District General Hospital setting.

You’ll be able to demonstrate Membership in Orthodontics and undertaken the accredited 3 year training pathway in Orthodontics and completed 2 years FTTA training in Orthodontics. Inclusion on the General Dental Council Specialist List in Orthodontics is essential.

You will also have the opportunity to work with our Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Consultant Colleagues for the management of facial deformity cases requiring orthognathic surgery and complex dentoalveolar patients. A full range of multidisciplinary care is provided which includes hypodontia, orthognathics, dentoalveolar, cleft and craniofacial cases.
