Advanced Nurse Practitioner

Salary up to £44,503 per annum, equivalent to Agenda for Change Band 7

37.5hrs per week (including, shift-work, nights, weekend and on-call provision)


About the role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for the appointment of two experienced and highly motivated individuals who have the ability to work as independent autonomous practitioners alongside our Inpatient Unit clinical team at Mountbatten Hampshire, to further enhance clinical practice, professional leadership, education and service development. With a 21 bedded In-Patient Unit (IPU), a large day, self-help and rehabilitation centre, a community nursing team, psychosocial care, bereavement service and an education team, our services and our approach to care are being constantly developed and expanded to meet the growing demands of the community we serve. The post holder will be pivotal in assisting Mountbatten to adapt and innovate to ensure services are fit for purpose, not just for those who need us now, but for future generations.

About you:

The Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) will provide a highly visible clinical profile, working as a clinically independent and autonomous practitioner, managing a defined group of palliative/end of life patients as part of the Inpatient Unit (IPU) multi-disciplinary team (MDT). As well as leading on nurse-led admissions and discharges, to ensure a responsive, coordinated approach to the most effective use of the IPU beds. The postholder will monitor and improve standards of care through supervision of practice, clinical audit, evidence-based practice, teaching and supporting professional colleagues, providing resilient, expert nursing leadership. In order to work at this level, Nursing and Midwifery Council requirements for advanced practice must be met.
