Location/Trust: Outpatients B Department, Stepping Hill Hospital, Poplar Grove, Hazel Grove, Sk2 7JE

Pay Rates (hourly):  Days: £11.20 Saturdays/Nights: £14.55 Sundays/Bank Hols: £17.97

 

The Role:

 

Are you an experienced Registered Dental Nurse who would like to be part of providing better lives for the service users, working in a fast-paced Outpatients Department?


If you answered yes, then we would love to hear from you as we are looking for Registered Dental Nurses to pick up regular bank shifts within Outpatients B at Stepping Hill Hospital.

The post holder is required to work within the Outpatient B Care Setting as a Registered Dental Nurse; working within Maxillofacial/ Orthodontics’ and treatment areas including theatres to ensure the provision of a quality service. The post holder must be able to work flexibly as dictated by the service demand.

Main Duties, Skills and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure Trust and local procedures and policies are reviewed and upheld.
  • To carry our clerical tasks as required within the role such as orthodontic model boxes and uploading patient photographs onto dolphin.
  • To carry our any tasks required to maintain the safety, cleanliness and tidiness of the department. Reporting any safety issues to the appropriate team.
  • To carry out duties as required and be able to work independently within the dental departments and theatre areas.
  • To work as a member of the multi-disciplinary team providing specialist practical skills and theoretical knowledge across a wide range of Orthodontic and Maxillofacial procedures in accordance with the British Dental Association (BDA) and British Orthodontic Society (BOS) recommendations.
  • To uphold the Trust’s dignity and respect standards.
  • To comply with all departmental standards and ensure they are monitored and upheld.
  • To be accountable within realms of dental nurse registration and ensuring you complete all of the relevant continuing professional development (CPD) in line with the GDC recommendations.
  • To maintain accurate and timely documentation, observing any confidentiality or data protection policies.
  • To have excellent communication skills with patients, careers, support services and clinical colleagues dealing with exposure to highly distressing or emotional circumstances.
  • To inform the relevant nursing managers of any untoward incident/accident and ensure that appropriate investigation, corrective action and documentation take place.
  • Rotation within the Maxillofacial Department which includes Oral Surgery, Orthodontics, Theatre and Consultant Led Nurse-Led Clinics.
  • Consultant Led Nurse-Led Clinics including taking alginate impressions, taking clinical photographs and consent from patients and providing Oral Health advice.
  • Ensuring you attend the departmental meetings to keep up with changes in the department especially for COVID-19 updates.
