MHSOP In-patients working at the Evington Centre

Are you motivated, organised and above all have the passion and drive to have a positive impact on the health and wellbeing of patients with a Mental Health condition aged over 65?

Mental Health Services for Older People (MHSOP) has therapy staff working within In-Patients on designated Organic and Functional Mental Health Wards, within Community Mental Health Teams throughout Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland and the In-Reach Team a specialist service providing support to patients with Mental Health conditions in Community Hospitals and Care-Homes.

You will be working within a Therapy Team as part of the wider Multi-Disciplinary Team. The service offers opportunities for induction and in-service training. Regular supervision and support is provided from the Therapy Team.

Your primary role will be to plan, organise and facilitate meaningful activities for patients, on the ward who predominantly have a diagnosis of dementia. Improving opportunities for people to interact and be engaged, this is through group sessions and also one to one interventions. Working with patients, carers and the wider ward team to promote the benefits of meaningful engagement in improving and maintaining health and well-being.
