NHS Midlands and Lancashire CSU are seeking the support of an experienced and qualified Children's Nurse Assessor to join our bank service.

The successful applicant will have:

  • A strong business focus as well as clinical expertise is a key requirement for this Nurse Assessor commissioning role to ensure delivery of best possible care within available funding representing “value for money”, to support the seamless implementation of the National Framework for Children and Young People's Continuing Care including contribution to the development of training programmes, and delivery as required to facilitate others learning
  • Within Midlands and Lancashire CSU provide advice, screen and co-ordinate assessments against the National Framework for Continuing Care and local policies
  • To work alongside other children’s team members in processing NHS Continuing Care applications, prepare/present to panel
  • Influence best practice by providing professional nursing advice on a range of physical, learning disability and mental health nursing issues, which will require the individual to work in collaboration with partners and other professionals to ensure patients’ health care needs are met appropriately and effectively
  • To process and quality assure referrals/checklists and decision support tools
  • Lead on completion of decision support tools (where necessary), within a multi-agency arena
  • Perform reviews for children and young people
  • To support and facilitate the transition of young people with care packages moving from children to adult services
  • Support the delivery of a high quality, responsive service to meet the health needs of the identified population

If successful you will be paid Monthly in arrears. (For example if your start date is 1st April you will be paid on 27th May for the first time) The bank is a zero hour agreement therefore hours cannot be processed for payment in advance.
