JOB SUMMARY:

To provide a complete decontamination, disinfection and sterilisation service on behalf of the dental directorate in line with the health technical memorandum 01-05

Responsible for processing re-useable medical devices and equipment ensuring all items are safe for use on patients.

The core functions of service delivery are the cleansing, decontamination and sterilising of instrument packs and supplementary items ready for re-issuing out to the respective user departments.

The role will require you to process instrumentation through the decontamination and sterilisation processes. You will be required to;

 Check soiled instruments

 Dismantle instruments ready for decontamination and process

 Once decontaminated, assemble instrumentation and check for defects

 Load instruments into sterilisers and facilitate the return of sterile goods either into storage for distribution at a later date, or directly back to user.

The Trust has taken the decision to recharge successful candidates for the cost of their DBS disclosure. This post requires a(n) Enhanced / Standard DBS disclosure. The current price of this is £48.43/£30.43. The Trust will pay the initial costs, which will be recovered, in installments, from your first three salary payments.
