Director of Operations – Northern Devon Healthcare Trust (NDHT)

We are seeking to appoint an exceptional Director of Operations, who will work within NDHT to deliver excellent services and help to shape the future strategic direction of the Trust. This is an exciting and very senior level post, providing line management and leadership to the clinical Divisional Directors; taking appropriate managerial action to ensure the delivery of operational service objectives and national targets.

To be effective you will need to be a proven and credible Operational Director with experience working within a substantial acute NHS organisation and have experience of collaborative and system working, as well as a passion for patient care. You’ll be joining a close working and very supportive leadership team, so your ability to work with the team will be every bit as important as your knowledge and experience.

In exchange we offer the opportunity to help lead an innovative, highly credible and patient focused organisation with over 3,000 employees and a turnover exceeding £200m. You will report to, support and deputise for the Chief Operations Officer as appropriate as part of this role.

Our main site is based in Barnstaple with a number of community locations across Devon, a county consistently rated as one of the best places in Britain to live. We support flexible working and timetables which allow you to enjoy all that our unique location offers from surfing or sailing on pristine beaches to hiking or riding on beautiful moorland.
