Amber Valley CMHT Adults of Working Age

Full-Time, 37.5 hours per week

Amber Valley Community Mental Health Team adults of working age are looking for an enthusiastic Band 7 Community Psychiatric Nurses with a recorded prescribing qualification to join their busy and friendly teams; based at Ripley Resource Centre on a Permanent Contract, working predominantly within out-patients.

The team operates Monday–Friday, 9am-5pm, excluding bank holidays.

This is an exciting role with opportunities for development, as it becomes increasingly embedded within the team.

The work will involve assessing, treating and supporting adults with mental ill-health who live predominantly in the Amber Valley locality.

You will need to have the ability to travel across a specified geographical area.

You will need to have recent relevant experience of working with adults who experience on-going mental ill-health, preferably in a community setting.

The applicant will also have recent prescribing experience with this client group.

This post will suit an enthusiastic, driven, motivated and flexible NMP with experience of independent prescribing and preferably experience of working as a CPN in a clinical setting.

Arrangements for Consultant support and prescribing supervision will be in place.

The post holder will be required to engage in CPD including a mix of self-directed learning and mentored practice supported by internally and externally taught training.

As a practitioner, you will assess patients who present with urgent but not life-threatening illness and injury, plan their care, administer treatment on site and complete discharge supported by the Team Consultant Psychiatrist and CMHT colleagues where required.

Where on-site treatment is not appropriate you will refer to other healthcare professionals / external agencies.

This is a very supportive team and you will be encouraged to continue your professional development with the help of regular supervision and access to training opportunities.

DBS Check
The cost of undertaking a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) disclosure will be met by the individual. The Trust will meet the initial costs of the disclosure which will be deducted from your first month’s salary. The current price of a standard check is £23 and an enhanced check is £40.
