An opportunity has arisen within the Urology Cancer Nurse Specialist team in supporting and caring for patients with a diagnosis of Urological Cancer. This is an exciting opportunity to learn and develop new skills within the Urology Oncology specialty.

You will be supported by highly experienced Cancer Nurse Specialists in the care and management of these patients. You will be caring for patients and their family through their treatment pathway. This will include active participation in MDT meetings, multidisciplinary outpatient clinics, inpatient reviews, including holistic needs assessments and care planning. An integral part of the role includes managing the psychosocial needs of the patients and their families or carers, as they face the challenge of their diagnosis. The team is focused on changing services to enhance the delivery of patient care.

This is an exciting role and you will need to have excellent communication and organisational skills and the ability to foster good working relationships, offering care in a kind and compassionate manner. The ideal candidate will be an experienced nurse with the ability to work autonomously with support from the multi-disciplinary team. Flexibility is a must as cross site working will be required.

We are looking to recruit a dynamic forward thinking nurse with relevant years post registration experience in surgery and / or oncology. You must hold a recognised teaching qualification and possess excellent communication skills.

Applicants should have an understanding of the Macmillan Cancer Nurse Specialist role and be willing to undertake further training and development as required.
