Job Advert – Band 5 CAMHS Community Nurse

In a period of exciting change and development, we are looking for a band 5 nurse to join our multidisciplinary Child and Adolescent Mental Health Team in West Cumbria. We are a busy, friendly service providing a range of treatment approaches to children and young people. We also work in close collaboration with partner agencies.

You will be part of an established CAMHs service, working with children, young people (up to the age of 18) and their families. The post holder will work independently according to a plan agreed with the MDT and within the overall framework of the team’s policies and procedures. This role would be suitable for a recently qualified nurse, however you must be able to demonstrate experience of working in a mental health setting or similar environment with children and young people who present with a range of mental health needs.

As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to be involved in working therapeutically with young people and their families. We would be keen to support you in developing areas of interest in working with children and young people with mental health difficulties.

You will be provided with training, supervision and preceptorship to enable you to fulfil the requirements of the role.

You will also need to be able to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary context. You should have collaborative and enthusiastic styles as well as a passion and commitment to develop and promote recovery based approaches for children and young people’s mental health needs.

The post requires that you are a good communicator, and are able to adopt a flexible, adaptable and proactive approach to your work.

The Main service is based at The Hopegill Centre Workington and the service is operational between the hours of 9am and 5pm however some out of hours working may be necessary to meet service demands.

The successful candidates will be required to work as part of the West CAMHS team; however you will be required to work flexibly throughout the service if needed.

You must have a strong commitment to the delivery of high quality, safe, patient care.
