Emergency Floor Education and Development Support Worker

Emergency Department

Band 3

We are looking for an enthusiastic, hardworking person to join our education team in the Emergency Department. You will need to be able to work full time and work a full rotational shift pattern including nights and weekends.

Duties will include:

  • To support the Education and Practice Development team in implementing education, training and practice development strategies
  • Promote continuing professional development through supporting the delivery of relevant programmes of education and training across the nursing workforce. This will include assisting with essential to job role training, induction programmes and other relevant developmental programmes provided in the department.
  • Work clinically alongside non-registered staff and assist in their development by promoting and delivering education practice and the implementation of policies to ensure a workforce ‘fit for purpose’ and ‘fit for practice’.

You will ideally have experience as a HCA in Emergency Medicine and have a desire to support the education and development of the HCA team. You will be confident, articulate and comfortable with speaking in front of large groups of people. You will also

  • Hold GCSEs in English and Maths A-C (or 4-9) or Functional Skills level 2
  • Be computer literate in Microsoft systems
  • Have a Care Certificate
  • Have previous Health Care Assistant / Clinical Aide role for at least 2 years
  • Have ECG, Phlebotomy and Cannulation signed off competencies
  • Be able to demonstrates ability, enthusiasm and motivation to pass on knowledge to others
  • Have ability to assist in the learning of others and be able to supervise and assess learners
