Royal Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is the UK’s leading heart and lung hospital, treating around 50,000 patients each year. We are located in a new, purpose-built hospital on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus, with administrative services based in Huntingdon.

Since carrying out the UK’s first successful heart transplant in 1979, the hospital now performs more heart, heart-lung and lung transplants each year than any other UK centre.

In addition to transplantation, Royal Papworth Hospital has the UK’s largest Respiratory Support and Sleep Centre (RSSC) and is one of five UK centres providing Extra Corporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) to patients experiencing severe respiratory failure. It is also the only centre in the UK for a number of specialist services including Pulmonary Endarterectomy and Balloon Pulmonary Angioplasty (BPA).

Housekeepers – Patient Feeding Team Manager

We are expanding our workforce which brings incredible opportunities for YOU

The Housekeeping team provide the full range of patient food and drinks service, including menu selection, preparation, serving and clearing from the patient bedrooms. This role is for an experienced catering manager, chef or cook to provide training, development and leadership to a team of circa 40 housekeepers.

The patient catering team provide food and beverages to all patients in our hospital, including inpatients, day ward patients and critical care patients, therefore compassion and a commitment to improving the patient experience through high quality food and beverage service is essential.

 

The Trust works alongside its PFI partner OCS in providing the patient catering service, OCS provide the base meals, and the patient catering team provide the patient experience and food delivery service at a patient bedside.

This post will be based at Royal Papworth Hospital Cambridge Biomedical Campus and provide a key element of the patient experience whilst in our hospital. It is proven the benefits to early discharge and good recovery that the right food and hydration has with patients, you can be part of this service.
