Salaried GP in Central Southampton, Tier 2 Visa Sponsorship available


  • Salary £9,599 - £11,600 per session per year dependent on experience
  • Annual leave: 32 days plus 8 Bank Holidays (pro rata) and study leave 1 week (pro rata)
  • Study leave budget allocation each year to assist in funding courses attended

Solent GP Surgery has evolved from three practices in Southampton (Adelaide, Portswood and Nicholstown) who came together to form the current service in 2017. Solent NHS trust has been working with General Practice since 2010.

We are an APMS practice serving about 19,000 patients working from sites in Central Southampton.

We have:

Salaried GP model – this is evolving to improve continuity of care by providing a team approach to managing the patient lists, yet embracing the changed ways of working that the pandemic has brought to primary care

Opportunities for flexible working and to develop portfolio careers within Solent NHS Foundation Trust

ANPs working alongside the team doing a mixture of on the day triage and routine care

Team of Practice nurses and HCAs supporting the team and providing chronic disease management

Mental health Nurse Practitioner – we are expanding the capacity of this team to support the mental health care of the patients for the practice

Clinical Pharmacists in addition to the PCN resource

Access to first contact physiotherapy

Proactive care team looking after the frail /housebound patients

Specialist Homeless team providing care to the homeless population for the whole of Southampton

The Special Allocation Service is also provided by the practice through a specialist team


We are looking for:

Salaried GPs to join our team, newly qualified or experienced. You will be MRCGP or equivalent and on the GP Performers list

You will be working within the Solent NHS Trust structure and so will benefit from Trust indemnity and the support from the wider Solent team.

Tier 2 Certificate of Sponsorship
