Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has an exciting opportunity for part time Catering Assistants. Your shift will be based on a 12-week roster that averages out at 26.25 hours a week and will work on a three on three off system. The shift is for night shift and is from 10pm to 6am; this also includes working weekends and is on a fixed term contract. This post is at the New Baltic Laboratory Centre in Gateshead and is to aid in the serving of food to staff working in the laboratories in the on-site Restaurant 24/7. Your Job role will involve:

  1. Setting up of the servery before service and cleaning down after service.
  2. Serving food to Staff.
  3. Making fresh sandwiches to order.
  4. Cleaning of tables and using a dishwasher.
  5. Using a till and card machine
  6. Ensuring fridges are stocked up and stock is been rotated.
  7. Daily cleaning of unit
  8. May include some food preparation as well

This post requires a flexible approach to hours of work and to meeting the needs of our customers whilst being supportive of the large food service operation at the RVI.

You will be part of the Trusts Catering Team. You will need a good awareness of food hygiene and be willing to undertake allergen training and COSHH training and hold a level 2 in food hygiene.
