Job Title: Electro-Medical Engineer

Site: Based at East Surrey Hospital, Surrey (but covering all Trust areas as required)

Department: Electro-Medical Engineering Services

Grade: Band 5

Contract: Permanent at 37.5 hours per week

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Electro-Medical Engineer to join a busy EME Services team maintaining the medical equipment spread across various sites of the Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust. The successful applicant will be based at East Surrey Hospital working Trust wide as required.

Ideally, you will have a minimum of HNC/HND or equivalent in an Electrical / Electronic Engineering discipline with experience working in the electronic/electrical-mechanical field preferably workshop based. Prior knowledge of medical devices/medical engineering desirable but not essential.

Duties are to provide a complete medical equipment management service including acceptance testing, planned preventative maintenance, calibration and equipment repair. Good workshop skills including fault finding and corrective maintenance skills are imperative.

You must be self-motivated with a flexible approach, have the confidence to work alone and contribute when working with others.

You must have excellent communication and IT skills, be well organised and have the ability to develop effective working relationships with suppliers and Trust staff at all levels.

High standards of safety and accountability will be expected.

When fully embedded into the team the successful candidate will participate in the EME Services on-call rota and should be able to attend the site within an hour.

Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust operate a 24 hour 365 day a year service and all nursing, clinical and operational roles will require staff to work 24/7 shifts (if required) unless you are specifically advised otherwise as part of the recruitment process.
