Patient Safety Improvement Nurse

An opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join a fast paced, patient-centred Corporate Nursing Team We are looking for someone who enjoys a challenge, has excellent people skills and wants to help us to provide a high quality and efficient service to our patients and support delivery of the Patient Experience Strategy.

The post holder is responsible for supporting the Deputy Chief Nurse for Patient Safety & Clinical Education, to lead on all aspects of patient safety to improve the quality of care and patient safety across the whole of Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

With a strong drive to ensure safe patient outcomes in relation to both national and local Trust clinical safety indicators; primarily focussed on, but not limited to, Sepsis management, Falls prevention, medicines safety and the prevention of Venous Thromboembolism (VTE), the post holder will lead on patient safety initiatives and provide advice, support and mentorship to Trust staff in order to promote a positive safety culture and continuous quality improvement.

The post holder will lead on audits undertaken within the clinical environment to identify practice requirements and support the implementation of lessons learned from safety incidents across the organisation.

Depending on the classification of the post, in-line with DBS guidelines, a Standard or Enhanced disclosure will be required which may include a check of the ‘Vulnerable Adults List’, the ‘Children’s List’ and/or the Independent Safeguarding Authorities (ISA’s) barred lists.

A charge of £60 (Enhanced) will be made by the successful candidate which will be deducted from the first 3 months’ salary. In addition to this, you will also be required to re-pay any future costs that may arise in relation to DBS fees.
