Desktop Support Technician

Job Reference: 415-E21-102

Northern Devon Healthcare Trust
Digital Technology Office
£21,892 - £24,157 per annum pro rata

We are seeking a flexible and enthusiastic individual to join our desktop support team within the Digital Technology Office.

We are looking to appoint a Desktop Support Officer to integrate into our existing desktop support team, to provide second-line support for the IT user population. Applicants should have experience of working in a similar IT role, preferably within ITIL processes.

The candidate will have good working knowledge of IT desktop environments such as Window 10, be able to support mainstream Microsoft products such as the Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Active Directory and Apple/Android mobile devices. Experience of application delivery and upgrades through the use of tools such as SCCM, Zenworks or MDM products such as intune or VMware workspace one is highly desirable.

The candidate will work with all levels and staff groups within the Trust, so good communication skills are essential. They must work well under pressure in a fast moving incident led team, but also be able to deliver small scale works such as software upgrades, IT relocation, and new application implementations.

Candidates must have the ability to travel to meet the requirements of the role. Extensive knowledge of the local geographic area and experience supporting users within a corporate IT environment is also desirable.

This post is subject to formal matching. The Band is confirmed but there may need to be some revision to the JD required in the future.

Closing Date: 14 March 2021

This post is being offered as Northern Devon Healthcare NHS Trust and the Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust continue to develop our long standing partnership with a view to becoming a single integrated organisation across Eastern and Northern Devon. • Demonstrate compassion
  • Strive for excellence
  • Respect diversity

  • Listen and support others

Our teams of care professionals work with patients and their families to support peoples’ independence, health and wellbeing. In our most recent staff survey, our staff voted us in the top 10% of NHS provider organisations to work for and we also came out as the top provider in the South West for our overall results. Our patients (through the Friends and Family Test) regularly report an average of over 95% satisfaction with our services.

Please note that we may close this vacancy early if we receive a high volume of applicants.

Pay award due with effect from Thursday 1st April 2021, implementation pending NHS Employers publication.
