Senior Staff Nurse - 136 Suite/Crisis

Sheffield Children’s Hospital is one of 3 dedicated Children’s Hospitals and we are looking to recruit Band 6 RMN Nurses to work with young people in our 136 Suite and provide additional clinical/operational support as required to our Crisis Team, and Inpatient lodges.

The Crisis Service offer's DSH assessments to young people attending Sheffield Childrens Hospital and has recently expanded its core offer to support and follow up for young people attending A & E. The Crisis service offers support to young people who may have been admitted to paediatric wards following presentation to hospital.

The 136 is located at the Becton Centre for Children and Young People and is a state-of-the-art centre for children and young adults aged up to 18 with serious and complex mental health issues. The Becton centre has 3 Inpatient Lodges (Sapphire Lodge 13-18yrs, Emerald Lodge 10-13yrs, Ruby Lodge for Learning disability 8-18 yrs) offering 24 hour care to young people 7 days a week. Across the lodges we have excellent and welcoming MDT teams, offering specialist assessment and interventions to children and young people. We continue to invest in our staff and offer the skills, supervision and training you require to provide excellent care. If a DBS check is required for the post you are applying for any offer of employment will be provisional on a satisfactory DBS check being obtained.

In line with other NHS Organisations in the Yorkshire and Humber Region a successful candidate appointed into a post within this Trust will be required to pay the DBS check fee (£45). This is customarily payable over 4 months as a salary deduction once employed by the Trust. If you receive a conditional offer letter, complete your DBS application and later withdraw from the recruitment process, an invoice will be raised via the Trust's finance department to recoup the outlay.
