Working hours : 37.5 hours per week

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Sister/Charge nurse to work within the Emergency Department here at the Countess of Chester Hosptital.

The department has recently undergone major refurbishment and investment in the workforce. We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and passionate individual to compliment and lead our nursing team to deliver high quality care for our patients.

The department currently sees in excess of 80,000 patients per year, having trauma unit status and a seven day proactive in-reach support service from the stroke team. In addition to this we have well established Emergency Nurse Practitioner and Advanced Nurse Practitioner teams, increasing these workforces from our existing teams.

We welcome applicants from experienced RN's who can evidence a strong clinical background at Band 6 or above within an Emergency Department setting. You should be able to manage all aspect of the Emergency Department on a daily basis. You will have excellent leadership, managment, teaching skills and above all communication skills.

Please note this is a rotational post days and night shifts covering 7 days a week.

The Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust consists of a 600 bedded large district General Hospital, which provides its services on the Countess of Chester Health Park, and a 64 bedded Intermediate Care Service at Ellesmere Port Hospital. The Trust has almost 4,000 staff and provides a range of medical services to more than 445,000 patients per year from areas covering Western Cheshire, Ellesmere Port, Neston and North Wales.

If subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1975, then a disclosure submission will be made to the Disclosure & Barring service (formerly CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions. The cost of the DBS application is £28 (standard) or £45 (enhanced), this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first three months of employment.
