We provide healthcare services to people living in Bridgend, Merthyr Tydfil and Rhondda Cynon Taf county borough areas, serving a population of around 450,000. We are ideally situated between Wales’s capital city, Porthcawl to the west, and the stunning scenery in the Beacon Beacons.

Are you looking for a part time, permanent, static Band 6 post with an opportunity to develop your skills in the field of medicine?

There are exciting changes underway within Cwm Taf Morgannwg that are focussing on supporting more people stay at home and avoid unnecessary admissions to hospital. Following retirement of the existing post holder an opportunity has arisen within our @Home service. The MDT is composed of Medical Consultant, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy professionals and support staff. Their aim is to support anyone at risk of hospital admission due to a medical deterioration in the community stay at home.

The role is ideal for an OT who enjoys fast paced assessment and problem solving. Where possible the therapists practice blurred boundary working and interventions are delivered both within a clinic and community setting.

There are multiple community services being developed within the health board including Primary Care, and Stay Well @ Home, all focussing on maintaining people in their own homes. This role will develop along side these over time to ensure a robust community provision is established

We enjoy developing our staff and offer regular supervision, support and coaching by the experienced OTs within the team and there is an active Band 6 development and support group that meets regularly.

You will be an integral part of the @Home MDT and will be flexible to service needs and possess excellent self management skills. You will be adept at managing and prioritising your own caseload to ensure timely intervention .

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
