Lead Consultant Clinical Neuropsychologist

We are looking for highly motivated, enthusiastic Consultant Clinical Neuropsychologist, with a track record of providing and managing clinical neuropsychology services. You will work within a small, well established team of Clinical Neuropsychologists, Clinical Psychologists, a Psychological Therapist and Psychology Assistants who provide input into a range of inpatient and outpatient services based at Walkergate Park and within the community. The focus of our services are on neuropsychological assessment, neurorehabilitation, neuropsychiatry, neurobehavioural approaches (including Positive Behaviour Support), and providing community rehabilitation to people with acquired brain injury. We work closely with Consultants in Neurorehabilitation, Neuropsychiatrists and the full range of professionals in our Multidisciplinary Teams.

 

The service has a strong commitment to supervision and training, both in terms of continued professional development and of providing teaching and training. We have good links with the training courses in the area and an active Special Interest Group. We are committed to the development of clinical psychologists becoming trained as Clinical Neuropsychologists and have supported our staff to complete the knowledge component, and subsequently the practice component of the Qualification in Clinical Neuropsychology. We encourage applicants who are research active and who will be able to facilitate our staff to incorporate evidence based research into their clinical work, as well as develop their own research streams. The context of our service is within a mental health trust and some our inpatients are detained under the Mental Health Act. We have started a process to enable staff to complete the Approved/Responsible Clinician training and wish to develop this role further in the future.
