Nurse Consultant in Infection Prevention and Control, North West Surrey Integrated Infection Prevention and Control Team

This is an exciting time to be part of an Integrated Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Team within North West Surrey (NWS).

The Nurse Consultant will establish and develop a new team whose remit will encompass community and system working across NWS, which will include community services and care homes and Ashford and St Peters Hospitals (ASPH).

The post holder will report into the Associate Director of Infection Prevention and Control for NWS with a primary remit to be the lead IPC Nurse for community services, but will support the acute team as required.

We are therefore looking for an innovative, dynamic, autonomous Nurse Consultant with extensive, strategic clinical leadership experience in Infection Prevention and Control. You will have a proven track record in embedding quality improvement and patient safety.

You will practise at an advanced clinical level and exercise high levels of judgement, discretion and decision making; to ensure the community services remain compliant with the Health and Social Care Act, 2015: Code of Practice on the Prevention and Control of Infections and registered with no restrictions with the Care Quality Commission.

Being a clinical expert in the field of infection prevention and control you will fulfil the 4 domains of the Nurse Consultant function:

1. Advanced and expert level practice within the field of infection prevention and control;

2. Leadership and consultancy;

3. Development and provision of education and training;

4. Service development, evaluation, research and audit.
