An exciting opportunity has arisen for the right person to lead our innovative, friendly and supportive team as the Lead for Tissue Viability for 37.5 hours per week. The ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate extensive experience in the tissue viability specialty and hold a recognised tissue viability qualification. The ability to work independently, have a positive “can do” attitude and be able to use your own initiative is essential.

You will be responsible for the leading, development and delivery of exceptional care to our clients across the Trust (including on occasions North Cumbria). Your interventions will utilize a range of clinical and managerial skills and will require empathy, kindness, respect and dignity as well as effective leadership.

The post holder will develop and provide specialist tissue viability advice, support, education and training to patients, carers and health care staff & professionals based on knowledge of relevant evidence, current research, good practice guidance and local/national policy.

As a lead specialist practitioner, you will become a crucial part of our Trust wide tissue viability service and support the wider safer care team. Although your work will be focused around leading the tissue viability service you will assist the wider team with national and local initiatives focused on holistic client needs. This will include national campaigns and targets around vaccination, flu and considering the recent pandemic supporting the varied work of the safer care directorate (including IPC).

The post can / does require regular commutes between sites in the Trust so access to a vehicle/transport is essential.
