Children's Community Nursing is pleased to offer a Band 5 staff nurse post based in the Inclusion Nursing Team. This is an exciting opportunity for a registered nurse who has experience of working with children and young people aged 2-19 who have complex health, additional needs or Learning disabilities. The team provides nursing support to the Leeds Specialist Inclusive Learning Centres (SILCs) across the city and support occasionally when required to the wider services Continuing Care, Hannah House and Children's Nursing Team. The post will be a permanent post and is 26hrs term time only.

Our focus is to promote opportunities for children and young people to be involved in all aspects of school life. We provide training, clinical and non-clinical care and support to a wide range of Children and their families in order for them to attend school. The workload is challenging and varied and in return there is opportunity to develop knowledge, skills and work across the wider Children's Community Nursing Service.

In a recent CQC inspection Leeds community Healthcare were rated as good. In the last Inclusion nursing service Quality walk the team were rated as good with outstanding care.

You will be innovative, resilient, have a sound knowledge base, excellent communication skills and able to work autonomously prioritising your workload as part of a busy fast paced team, working under the supervision of senior staff.

Your duties will involve:

  • Assessment and care planning.

  • Caseload holder under supervision.

  • Teaching and training of Education Staff and other local authority contacts.

  • Safeguarding Children.

  • Providing 1:1 or group support with PSHE as requested.

  • Attending Early Help, education health care planning and Child in need meetings.

  • Working within ICAN Pathways sleep, continence, eating and drinking, behaviour and parental support.

  • Supporting joint clinics run with the Paediatricians and nurse led clinics.
