Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust (LPT) provides a range of community health, mental health and learning disability services for people of all ages. Delivered through over 100 settings from inpatient wards to out in the community, our 6,500 staff serves over 1m people living in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.

We are looking for a highly experienced Level 1 (Adult) Registered Nurse with strong clinical skills, who is enthusiastic and motivated to provide visible leadership in support of the Ward Sister. The post holder will be an experienced Band 5 nurse who can demonstrate they have a range of transferable skills within a hospital setting and have medical or sub acute medical experience or a current Band 6 nurse wishing to undertake a new and exciting challenge.

The successful candidate will be supported to develop their leadership ability and management skills and will lead by example to deliver excellence in patient care. We have an established band 6 induction and development programme to support you in this role.

You will be working for the Trust’s Community Health Services division (Hospital Service Line) which provides health care services within Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.

We are looking for a Level 1 Nurse with excellent communication and organisational skills who enjoys working in a fast paced ever-changing environment. You will be expected to be able to work as part of a team and lead that team to deliver the highest possible standards of patient care.

This post is on Ellistown Ward which is one of our community hospital in-patient wards caring predominantly for frail elderly medically unwell patients. The wards manage a range of specialities including sub – acute medically unwell patients, those who have complex discharge needs and palliative patients for symptom control or ‘end of life’ care.

Supported by the Ward Sister and Matron you will develop your professional accountability, innovative thinking and contribute to the clear vision for the in-patient nursing areas. You will be responsible for supporting the continuous management of the ward and contributing to high standards of care delivery.

For areas where our teams work to staffing rosters, rosters are set in advance at a team level and you will be joining an established roster. Your rostered shifts will be confirmed to you when arranging your start date. We will consider requests to vary working patterns in line with our flexible working policy.
