It is not always easy to decide which specialist area to work in without gaining hands on experience in clinical care. If you are a Registered Adult Nurse and are wishing to develop your experience across a range of different clinical areas this innovative post is for you. This post is open to newly qualified nurses or nurses with experience.

We have developed a rotational post for staff working across a number of clinical areas which will include:

Planned Community Nursing

Unplanned Community Nursing

Inpatient Intermediate Care

Inpatient Neurological Rehabilitation

Inpatient Palliative Care.

There will be potential for other specialist areas to be added to the rotation when vacancies become available.

Some rotations will be on a 24/7 rota whilst other rotations do not include night shifts. Successful applicants will be expected to work across all areas.

Each rotational placement will be for 7 months and during the rotation the Staff Nurse will be responsible for the assessment and management of a range of patients with a wide variety of nursing needs. The successful applicants will gain experience of working as part of multi-disciplinary teams, shift leading, case management, rehabilitation, end of life care and a wide variety of clinical skills. Support and development opportunities will be offered from senior staff through training, clinical supervision and mentorship. We also offer a robust 12 month preceptorship programme.

The successful nurses will be a Registered Adult Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council and have proven evidence of Continued Professional Development.
