We are looking for highly motivated and enthusiastic, qualified nurses to work at Bishop Auckland Hospital. The successful applicant will need to be able to work autonomously, and in addition provide a positive contribution to the multidisciplinary team.

As a motivated, enthusiastic nurse, with good communication skills you will have the opportunity to extend those skills with a range of learning opportunities provided by the trust.

We are in the process of planning to expand capacity at Bishop Auckland Hospital, and therefore welcome applicants with an interest in frailty.

We have vacancies on 3 of our established wards at Bishop Auckland Hospital, Ward 4 is a Stroke Rehabilitation ward where you will have the opportunity to work with a multidisciplinary team to ensure patients receive high quality evidenced based stroke care. Ward 6 is currently a step down ward that is a nurse led unit supported by a Team of Advanced Nurse Practitioners. Ward 16 provides rehabilitation to patients with multiple needs in relation to orthopaedic and general medical conditions.

Disclosure and Barring Service:

On 28 November 2020, the new Disclosure and Barring Service filtering rules will come into effect.

The changes mean that:

  • youth cautions, reprimands and final warnings will no longer be subject to automatic disclosure
  • the multiple conviction rule has been removed, meaning that if an individual has more than one conviction, regardless of offence type or time passed, each conviction will be considered against the remaining rules individually, rather than being automatically disclosed.
