Delivery of the COVID-19 vaccine will play an important role in helping to defend against the virus. This is an exciting opportunity for you to be a part of an historic response to the pandemic and ultimately to help save lives through joining the pharmacy team supporting the mass vaccination centre at Alderley park in Nether Alderley, Macclesfield.

As a proficient health care professional, you will be required to work on a flexible basis, including working outside usual hours and weekend work where required. In all roles, appropriate training, supervision and PPE will be provided to ensure the safety of all concerned.

The vaccination centre at Alderley park will have an on-site pharmacy team to support the vaccination service in ensuring safe and effective administration of the vaccine for all service users. Main responsibilities of the team will include:

  • Working with the vaccination team to ensure safe and effective processes and developing these where improvements are identified
  • To act as medicines specialists and answer clinical and product queries related to Covid vaccinations
  • Supporting the reconstitution/ preparation team
  • Assuring vaccine integrity during storage and preparation, depending on specific vaccine characteristics and model in place.
  • Ensuring correct storage including monitoring and dealing with temperature deviations
  • Ensuring adherence to SOPs and assisting/leading on developing these
  • Ensuring efficient stock management throughout the day and liaison with procurement teams
  • Accurate completion of documentation

The vaccination centre requires support 7.30am- 8.30pm 7 days a week. We are flexible in offering full time, part time or set hours on a rota basis for 6 month fixed term contracts. Banding is negotiable dependant on experience and contract. We also have bank contracts available for sessional shifts, please see separate adverts.
