We are seeking to recruit a qualified Clinical Psychologist to contribute in providing a paediatric clinical psychology service to children and their families. This is a maternity leave post but some sessions may become permanent. Those about to qualify would be considered. The post involves out patient work but can involve some inpatient The post will provide specialist input with patients referred to the e paediatric chronic pain team within Sheffield Children’s Hospital. The person appointed will provide assessment and treatment to children and their families as well as advice and consultation to professional colleagues.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced, newly qualified psychologist, or psychologist about to qualify. We are looking for a candidate with some specialist interest and experience in working with children and families to work alongside more senior Clinical Psychologists within all of these specialties. Well established support and supervision will be provided and further continuing professional development is actively encouraged and supported. The post will provide wide ranging experience and allow the candidate to further develop transferable skills.

Professionally you will join a well established and innovative Paediatric Clinical Psychology service which provides regional and national specialist services, through direct patient care, consultation and supervision within general paediatrics as well as many specialist services. There are currently good prospects for further expansion of the paediatric clinical psychology service. As a psychologist you will be supported by a substantial professional group of over 40 Clinical child psychologists, systemic family therapists and child psychotherapists working within the hospital and community context

37.5 Hours per week.

If a DBS check is required for the post you are applying for any offer of employment will be provisional on a satisfactory DBS check being obtained.

In line with other NHS Organisations in the Yorkshire and Humber Region a successful candidate appointed into a post within this Trust will be required to pay the DBS check fee (£45). This is customarily payable over 4 months as a salary deduction once employed by the Trust. If you receive a conditional offer letter, complete your DBS application and later withdraw from the recruitment process, an invoice will be raised via the Trust's finance department to recoup the outlay.
