Do you share our commitment to provide the best services to our users? If so, then read on. We are looking for a Mental Health Practitioner to join the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), part of the Families, Young Persons and Children Division of the Trust .

We are seeking to recruit dynamic Mental Health Practitioners to work full time within Crisis Team to work in a strong multi-disciplinary setting delivering a service for young people and their families and/or carers in Leicestershire.

The Role:

Whilst a full Job and Person specification is attached to this advert, key elements of the role include (but are not limited to):

Support the Team Leader for On Call/CAMHs Crisis Team in the delivery of an effective, efficient and high quality service.

Support the Team Leader for On Call/CAMHs Crisis Team to organise, develop and maintain an efficient and effective service to LLR patients.

Have clinical responsibility for complex cases within the service.

Work as an autonomous practitioner undertaking highly skilled assessments and developing and implementing complex interventions.

Following assessment, provides, develop and implement individual care/treatment plans.

The Successful Candidate will:

Have the qualifications and experience as highlighted in the Person specification

Work with children, young people and their families (up to 18 years).

Be confident in understanding the needs of clients with mental health needs and provide appropriate assessments or interventions or therapy and risk management strategies to support them.

Need excellent communication skills, be self-motivated, organised and have a reflective and flexible approach to working with clients with complex needs.

The Team and Further Information

The Trust provides a range of mental health, learning disabilities and community health services for the people of Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. Our 5500 staff serves a population of one million from over 100 sites across the region.

As part of the development of CAMHS crisis team there has been a national request for two services to be set up and work concurrently with the CAMHS crisis team. The immediate establishment of 24/7 urgent NHS mental health telephone support, advice and triage service for children and young people (CYP) and their parents/carers; To support young people who are in a mental health crisis and the mental health urgent care hub at the Bradgate Unit based at the Glenfield Hospital to divert patients who are in a mental health crisis and would ordinarily be asked to present at A&E, may be taken to A&E by other emergency services or who may self-present.

There will be an expectation that out of hours support will be provided within this role. The post holder will provide cover for the service Countywide, working on a shift pattern on a 24/7 basis including nightshifts and weekend working. You will be required to work full time (37.5 hours) on an internal rotation.
