Palliative Care Nurse Education Practitioner

Salary up to £30,615.00 pro rata - equivalent to Agenda for Change Band 5

6 month fixed term contract to cover maternity leave

18 hours per week to be worked flexibly in accordance with the needs of the service

We are seeking a registered nurse with experience of delivering training to others to join our education team. If you are passionate about education, continuous learning and development then we would be delighted to receive your application.

About the Role

As an education practitioner you will:

  • Assist with the provision, both development and delivery, of specialist palliative and end of life care training to a range of care providers (including domiciliary, residential, and nursing care).
  • Support the facilitation of training (including mandatory training) of Mountbatten staff.
  • Support all other Mountbatten education activities, i.e., data collection and monitoring of training quality, learning and reflection sessions, and conferences.

About You

You will need to:

  • Have a Nursing Degree and experience of palliative and end of life care.
  • Have an exemplary record of continuous professional development.
  • Be a highly skilled communicator.
  • Experience of providing training to nursing colleagues and other health and social care staff.
  • Have the ability to deliver teaching in a variety of formats (including using virtual/online applications) and be able to adapt training material as required to meet the needs of your audience.
  • Have an understanding of domiciliary, residential and nursing care settings. Experience of working in these settings would be preferable.
  • Be a team player.
  • Be motivated and enthusiastic.
