A fully funded training opportunity to qualify as a registered Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (Health Visitor) is now open to all qualified nurses active on Part 1 of the NMC register.
Starting in September 2021, you will be given a fixed term contract with Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust (SCFT) to undertake a one year full time degree course to complete the BSc/PGDip/MSc Specialist Community Public Health Nurse course (Health Visiting) at the University of Surrey.
Please note that there will not be the opportunity to undertake this part time, as it is a demanding course combining academic study with developing the clinical skills and knowledge to become a Health Visitor. Candidates must be able to commit to full time hours, and willing to travel across Sussex as required.
Sponsorship will be paid at Band 5 salary, up to a maximum of £27,416 dependent on current experience; no incremental uplift is paid for the duration of the training contract.
Successful completion of the course will lead to registration on Part 3 of the NMC register, an NMC recordable qualification, and eligibility to apply for a post as a Health Visitor.

Successful candidates will also need to apply to the University of Surrey separately and meet the academic entry requirements for the course. We work closely with the university to offer students a high level of support and clinical experiences throughout the year.
