We are delighted to invite applications for locum consultants in Paediatric Neurology. This is a replacement post which will enhance the current establishment of NHS and academic staff of the Leicester Children’s Hospital.

University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust provides acute and specialist paediatric services for Leicester and the surrounding hospitals in the South East Midlands including: neurology allergy, congenital heart disease, endocrinology, ENT, gastroenterology, haematology, NICU, oncology, paediatric surgery, PICU, and respiratory medicine.

The paediatric neurology service is a vibrant, proactive, and cohesive multidisciplinary clinical team that includes Nurses, play specialists and clinical nurse specialists, working alongside doctors in training, clinical fellows and Consultants. We have a long-standing reputation for high quality clinical care, research and education, with our staff’s commitment to excellence reflected in our consistent performance at the highest level.

Applicants must already be on the GMC specialist register or within 6 months of the interview date have a certificate of completion of specialist training.

The successful appointee will be expected to participate in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, research and clinical audit. They will be required to undertake management duties and work in a multidisciplinary team.

As this post is regulated by the Protection of Children Act 1999, The Criminal Justice Courts Act 2000 and / or the Care Standards Act 2000 an enhanced police criminal records disclosure will be requested by the Trust in the event of a successful application.
