We are looking for nurses to work in our inpatient community hospitals in the heart of Southampton.

The rehabilitation wards at the Royal South Hants Hospital and Western Community Hospital work closely with the community health and social care teams to prevent acute admissions and over reliance on inpatient bed days.

Fanshawe ward is a 19 bedded purpose-built rehabilitation ward, 10 of the beds are step up beds. These are for patients admitted directly from A&E or from home preventing an acute admission.

Lower Brambles is a 24 bedded predominantly older person’s rehabilitation ward which accepts step up and step-down patients. The step-up beds are key to avoiding admission into an acute bed transforming care and moving it closer to home.

Snowdon ward, situated at the Western Community Hospital is a neurological rehabilitation inpatient service, which provides short term assessment, rehabilitation and disability management for people with an acquired brain injury and/or neurological condition.

"Since joining the team at the Royal South Hants, I have grown personally and in my career. I strongly recommend the RSH as a very safe, well lead place to work with and strong team and strong leaders and thesewards have a very special place in my heart" - Mihaela Libita, Staff Nurse
