The Older People's Mental Health Service has an exciting opportunity to recruit a joint in-patient and community-based Consultant in Old Age Psychiatry, for our South Derbyshire Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) and Cubley Court In-Patient Dementia Ward.

10 sessions per week.

This substantive post will be based at Dale Bank View Swadlincote and the Ward is based at our Kingsway Site, which is also home to our Trust Headquarters.

The CMHT is a well-established, proactive team and also has a developmental NMP working within it. Cubley Court is for people suffering with Dementia who require hospital admission for assessment and treatment, delivering high-quality, evidence-based care.

The post offers a varied job, working closely with the multi-disciplinary teams.

Our Older People's Services include Memory Assessment Services, a county-wide Dementia Rapid Response Team and an In-Reach and Home Treatment Team.

The successful applicant will play a key role in the Department of Older Adult Psychiatry, providing clinical leadership to the teams in which they will be working and supporting current and future service developments.

DBS Check
The cost of undertaking a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) disclosure will be met by the individual. The Trust will meet the initial costs of the disclosure which will be deducted from your first month’s salary. The current price of a standard check is £23 and an enhanced check is £40.

We are obliged to check employment history for at least the past 3 years for successful candidates. Please ensure that the referees you provide us cover at least the past 3 years of your employment/training.
