A part-time permanent vacancy has arisen for an enthusiastic, customer focused, self-motivated Switchboard Operator/Telephonist. You will be joining a small friendly team on a busy Switchboard, providing a 24/7 service for the East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust.
The position will be based at Conquest Hospital site, working Thursday/Friday nights (19hrs in total).
The ideal candidate will be able to work under pressure, while remaining calm especially when dealing with emergency situations, as well as reacting positively to rude/distressed customers. You will need a professional and confident telephone manner, along with good verbal communicational skills & a clear speaking voice. The successful applicant will need to demonstrate knowledge of the healthcare environment as well as reasonable working knowledge in MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook and Internet Explorer along with good organisational and keyboard skills.
Please Note: The department is currently undergoing changes around location and shift patterns/working hours, which may result in a centralised service. This may result in changes to the shift pattern we are currently recruiting to.
