Matron for Medicine and Urgent Care
The Urgent Care Directorate at Northampton General Hospital is actively seeking a motivated and forward thinking senior nurse to join its team in the role of Matron. The primary responsibilities of the successful applicant will be to the two Nye Bevan short stay and assessment wards. The Senior Nursing Team comprises of two further Matrons who oversee the Emergency Department, Urgent Treatment Centre and Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC).
This role will be fundamental in designing the Urgent Care services of the future for the patients of Northamptonshire. Applicants should have held leadership roles from which they can evidence delivering high quality, patient-centred care. Experience in designing and implementing change will be essential to success.
As a Matron, you will play a key role in maintaining clinical quality and ensuring that clinical governance standards are upheld. You will also have responsibility for nurturing and developing the Urgent Care nursing Team to maximise its potential and focussing on strategies to maintain and improve staff well-being.
This is not an easy job, but it is very rewarding. You will need to be comfortable being visible, accessible and an authoritative presence. Your organisational and prioritisation skills will be tested everyday. In return, we will provide training and developmental opportunities to help you to maximise your potential and progress your career in the direction of your choice. This includes mentoring and coaching from the Executive Nursing Team.
