At Northampton General Hospital we provide general acute services and hyper-acute stroke, vascular and renal services to people living in Northamptonshire. As well as this we are an accredited cancer centre and provide cancer services to a wider population of Northamptonshire and parts of Buckinghamshire.

Midwife - Maternity Day Unit

Do you aspire to deliver the Best Possible Maternity Care every time? That’s the approach to Maternity Services at Northampton General Hospital. We are seeking enthusiastic Midwives to work across our Maternity Service to deliver high quality care to the women of Northamptonshire.

  • A modern alongside three-bed Birth Centre with birthing pools and 8 postnatal beds
  • 8 bed consultant-led Labour Ward with a birthing pool.
  • A dedicated Obstetric theatre with recovery
  • 18 bed Maternity higher Observation Ward
  • A Bereavement Suite with garden
  • A Maternity Day Unit and Outpatient Clinic and Midwifery Led Sonography services
  • 17 bedded ward for inpatient antenatal and postnatal mothers and babies
  • A dedicated and award winning dedicated Home Birth Team
  • Six bedded Transitional Care Ward to facilitate care of babies requiring Transitional care.
  • Continuity of carer Teams in line with Better Births 5 year Plan

  • We have Full BFI accreditation. We are currently working towards a Gold Standard.
