A Band 5 Nursing opportunity has arisen in the South Derbyshire and Dales Older Adults CMHT.

This is a full -time post of 37.5 hours per week.

The South and Dales Team is a busy and diverse place to work, supporting patients with both functional and organic illnesses.

As a Band 5 Nurse you will carry a caseload of patients with varying needs and this will include depot injections.

The successful applicant will have excellent assessment skills, the ability to assess and manage risk, communication skills, be able to build therapeutic relationships with both patients and their carers and have a knowledge about psychosocial approaches and the ability to work as part of an MDT.

An understanding of dementia and treatments for this will be required, as well as an understanding of functional illness and treatment available for these illnesses.

Within the team, legislation such as the Mental Capacity Act and the Mental Health Act, can often be utilised, as well as CPA.

There is a wealth of experience within the team; learning and development is encouraged.

This is a perfect opportunity for those with a keen interest in the area of older adults to expand their knowledge and become experts in this specialism.

The successful candidate will receive both management and clinical supervision, as well as having access to psychology supervision.

DBS Check
The cost of undertaking a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) disclosure will be met by the individual. The Trust will meet the initial costs of the disclosure which will be deducted from your first month’s salary. The current price of a standard check is £23 and an enhanced check is £40.

We are obliged to check employment history for at least the past 3 years for successful candidates. Please ensure that the referees you provide us cover at least the past 3 years of your employment/training.
