At Ashford and St Peters we are driving forward implementing The Harms Free Care Strategy, a part of our overall Trust Strategy.
We are absolutely committed to delivering Harm Free Care and have developed a Harm Free Care team to ensure higher visibility, focus and support to this HFC portfolio. The a Harm Free Care Strategy details the reduction trajectory we are set to achieve and are focussed on delivery of care that is optimised in quality and safety and aligned to quality improvement methodology and a learning culture.
The Team are led by the Harm Free Care Nurse Consultant whose role is to:
Lead and develop the Harms Free Care Service across the Trust.
Implement the Trust Harm Free Care Strategy and monitor its
Effectiveness, leading development of the annual trajectories.
Lead on the Harms Free Care Strategy within the Trust, working with
the teams to deliver a sustained reduction in avoidable pressure
damage, avoidable falls, the absence of a new VTE, harm associated
with poor nutrition and the absence of catheter associated urine
infections.
Be expected to develop and influence strategies and frameworks to
ensure that all healthcare staff adhere to Trust policies relating to Harm
Free Care, through developing practice linked to the clinical
governance and performance framework and the Trust corporate
objectives.
Support the Trust to develop and implement systems for performance
monitoring and performance improvement programmes for Pressure
Ulcers, VTE, Falls, Nutrition and Catheter Associated Urinary Tract
Infection (CAUTI).
This role will be an integral senior position in our corporate nursing team and work in partnership with the quality team and the divisional leadership team.
