Medical secretary –Paediatrics

We are looking for a highly motivated experienced Medical Secretary to provide a comprehensive, confidential secretarial and administrative service to two Paediatric Consultants. One of the consultants has interests in rheumatology and allergy. You would also help organise aspects of this work, including joint injections. One of the consultants is also a College Tutor, so you would be involved in organisational aspects of this work too, these tasks would be fully supported by the consultant.

Duties will include accurate and high quality typing of correspondence and documents of varied medical terminology through audio typing/digital dictation. To maintain an accurate diary of the consultants’ commitments, arrange meetings, prioritise workload and be able to work under pressure to meet deadlines as this is an essential feature of this job. You should also possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, dealing with patients’ records, management of patient pathways and other general office administration duties. You should also have a professional outlook and experience in all aspects of Microsoft Office.

The minimum requirements for this post are:

RSA 3 Certificate in Medical Secretarial Studies or extensive secretarial experience

Audio typing/digital dictation experience

Experience of working in the NHS.
