An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Bladder and Bowel Care Service as a Specialist Nurse providing the highest quality care to patients within clinical settings and their own homes working 37.5 hours a week.

The successful applicant will predominantly provide care in the South Devon area but there will be an expectation that they will provide cover across the Trust if required.

You will be a dynamic, highly motivated, flexible Registered Nurse with excellent communication skills. You will be responsible for providing assessment and treatment programs to patients with complex bladder and bowel problems. Experience of working in Primary Care would be advantageous, as you will hold your own caseload and use a multi-professional approach to ensure patients receive clinically proven and cost effective treatment.

A commitment to providing education to health care professionals, patients and carers is essential, along with providing support to the community nursing and care home staff. This will include helping them with the appropriate provision and use of containment products.

The post holder will be required to prescribe medication so will need to be a non-medical independent prescriber or willing to undertake the training.

You will be mindful of the need to work within a budget and have a supervisory role in the allocation of incontinence pads provided through the home delivery service.

There is an expectation that the post holder will support the Band 7's and deputise for them in their absence.
