We are seeking dedicated, self-motivated and committed individuals to work within the field of specialist services. There are two part time development posts available for 12-18 months, and once the post holders have completed and achieved the required competencies for the role they will be promoted to Band 6.
If you an experienced nurse and have physical assessment and wound assessment skills, but do not have lymphoedema specialist nurse skills, then you will be offered a 6-9 months development post. Again, once you have completed and achieved the required competencies for the job, you will be promoted to the Band 6 role.
The post holders will work as part of the team in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of patients who are referred to Lymphoedema Services, managing the episode of care within their scope of practice and experience, and liaising with primary care, acute and community colleagues as appropriate, utilising the skills and competencies of a specialist nurse.
In return they will be supported by the Lymphoedema Service, will receive clinical support from a clinical lead and the multidisciplinary team, receive managerial supervision from the team manager, and be given the opportunity to expand their knowledge and skills, including advanced physical assessment and non-medical prescription.
Please note that the role will involve travel across multiple sites in Sussex and include home visits. Please indicate on your application how you can meet these travel requirements.
