An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Histopathology department at Sheffield Children's NHS Foundation Trust to appoint a suitably qualified medical secretary to our dedicated team. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, enthusiastic and contribute to the continual development and expansion of our progressive pathology service. The post holder will work in a small team of three secretaries to provide a range of administrative and secretarial support to the Histology department.

The successful candidate will be based in the Histology office, will have effective secretarial and computer skills, together with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Additionally they should be able to work on their own initiative in prioritising work and meeting deadlines.

The Sheffield Children's HospitalHistopathology Department is a nationally and internationally recognized laboratory. Weprovide a specialised paediatric and neonatal surgical and post mortem services to the Surgical and Medical Directorates at the Sheffield Children’s Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and throughout South Yorkshire, North Derbyshire and an ever expanding referral area.

In line with other NHS Organisations in the Yorkshire and Humber Region a successful candidate appointed into a post within this Trust will be required to pay the DBS check fee (£45). This is customarily payable over 4 months as a salary deduction once employed by the Trust. If you receive a conditional offer letter, complete your DBS application and later withdraw from the recruitment process, an invoice will be raised via the Trust's finance department to recoup the outlay.
