Sheffield Children’s Hospital is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to recruit to the Allergy Nursing Co-ordinator vacancy, due to the expansion of the Allergy Department in the Division of Medicine.


The successful applicant must possess excellent organisational and interpersonal skills. They will be flexible and conscientious with the ability to liaise with staff of all levels throughout the hospital and to the wider Trust, as well as parents/guardians and GPs dealing effectively and efficiently with telephone enquiries. You will need to have the ability to work on your own initiative in prioritising your work and meeting deadlines whilst maintaining high standards.

The minimum requirements for this post are 4 GCSEs Grade C or above, including English, and RSA Level 2 typing / word processing / audio typing or equivalent qualification / experience. The successful applicant will also have excellent verbal and written communication skills in addition to a clear understanding of patient confidentiality. You must possess a good working knowledge of IT packages and the ability to work across a mixed skill team.

The post is 30 hours a week, Monday to Friday.

In line with other NHS Organisations in the Yorkshire and Humber Region a successful candidate appointed into a post within this Trust will be required to pay the DBS check fee (£45). This is customarily payable over 4 months as a salary deduction once employed by the Trust. If you receive a conditional offer letter, complete your DBS application and later withdraw from the recruitment process, an invoice will be raised via the Trust's finance department to recoup the outlay.
