Contract type and hours: Permanent, 37.5hrs per week. Working Shifts potentially between 6am - 10pm

Oldham Care Organisation

As the Healthier Together plans continue across Greater Manchester the Oldham Care Organisation is planned to play a crucial role with the Royal Oldham Hospital being identified as a red/hub hospital for the area.

The hospital has a full accident and emergency department and offers a comprehensive range of acute, general and specialist surgical services. The site also includes a dedicated Women’s and Childrens unit, offering one of only three Tertiary maternity units in the area. It is also home to the Alliance’s state of the art pathology lab providing a range of pathology services across the region.

Recently the Royal Oldham has received encouraging feedback from the CQC recognising various improvements and the dedication of the teams in their commitment to providing exceptional care.

Team/Departmental Information

This is a fast moving department with high demands and quick reactive responses required and well as proactive involvement around all production activities.

To meet & communicate regularly with the Laundry Plant Manager, all shifts including senior managers.

To review the service and promote improvements in service delivery and specifications.

Responsible for the monitoring and record keeping of all materials used with in the laundry and production mandatory forms.

Deal with any linen enquiries and action in the appropriate manner to the customer’s satisfaction.

Respond to urgent ad-hoc requests for linen and to pack or distribute such items as required to enable customer needs to be met.

To perform all the duties of a Laundry Floor Manager as and when required.

Ensure that safe working practices are maintained at all times and that duties are performed in accordance with Health and Safety and other relevant statutory regulations.

Comply with Trust Policy and Management instruction with regard to Health and Safety and fire prevention and not to do anything that may endanger yourself and others.

To undertake on the job training and induction training to achieve full competency across a medium range of duties. Having the skills to operate individual machinery and understanding the basic mechanical operation, giving the post holder the skills to progress within the department.
